2)If 80cm:3.5m=y:7,find the value of y.

1、x：(x+15)=3：8
3(x+15)=8x
3x+45=8x
5x=45
x=15
∴the value of x is 15
2、80cm：3.5m=y：7
0.8m：3.5m=y：7
3.5ym=5.6m
y=5.6÷3.5m
y=1.6m
∴ the value of y is 1.6m
