The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival is held every year at the Howard Country Fairgrounds,north of Washington D.C.People go to the two day’s festival to see sheep and things made of wool.The festival provides information for people .And it has many activities for the public.It is the largest thing of its kind in the country.
Only those who raise sheep can enter several competitions at the festival.There are compititions for the best sheep and the best wool.Another compititions is to cut the wool off a sheep ,make wool into yarn( 线),weave（织）a piece of clothing in one day .
Visitors to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival can see about one thousand sheep of many different kinds .They can watch people make clothing of wool .They can buy many kinds of yearn clothing and other hand-made things .Visitors can also hear traditional musical performances and watch colorful dances .They can learn how to cook meat of young sheep.And they taste many good foods.
