Do you know singapore?Why is it called singapore Here is a legend tells the name of this city .Many years ago,a prince came here,he felt ir is a nice island ,he wanted to know where it was .So he askedhis servants to look for local people,a few hours later,an old man came here .The prince asked him,"Where is it,and what's the name here "The old man said,"Sorry,Idon't know.Noname here!" At this moment,there was a beast appeared om shore and ran away quickly .It was red and very big.The prince asked the old man what it was.The old mn back to that animal and he didin't see it,but he had ta answer the prince's question .He said,"it is a sing."Sothe prince said,"OK,the name of this city is singa." Andpore is also Malay,tht means city .It is the name of Singapore.As you know,Singpore is also called"LION CITY".When you come to Singapore,you shoule come to the most famous building inSingpore ,the Merlion,it is a landmark statue of a half-lion,hlf-fish.It represents Singapore's humble beginnings as a fishing villge.It is tall nd white.Wter is the source of life .It spurts from the mouth of lion This is the story of Singpore.
