DEFINITIONS AND ABBREVIATIONS
Reference to ABYC or MCA recommendations and standards refers to the latest edition of Standards and Recommended Practices for Small Craft published by the American Boat and Yacht Council or UK’s MCA pilot boat regulations in publication at the time of contract award.
“KFSD” refers to Kuwait Fire Service Directorate.
“Watertight” is defined as capable of preventing the passage of water through the structure in any direction under a head of water for which the surrounding structure was designed.
“Weather tight” is defined as capable of preventing water from penetrating into the vessel in any sea and weather conditions.
“NFPA” refers to the National Fire Protection Association.
