They are extremely confident,and rightfully so.They are playing some of the best basketball in the NBA.
The monumental road trip the Lakers just completed was so successful that they have raised the bar for themselves.
At the beginning of the season they set their sights on being one of the top five teams in the Western Conference.Now they have a new goal and believe it can be reached.
That goal?
"Becoming the best team in the West,which is going to be a fight," forward Lamar Odom said."Trying to get the No.1 spot and trying to play for home-court advantage.Trying to win a championship."
Those words would have rung hollow back on Jan.30,when the Lakers began a nine-game,16-day trip that posed much danger -- partly because of the teams they were going to face,partly because of the team's injuries,and partly because of their history.
