这个than用来比较什么?when后面的从句和that后面的从句,还是earlier和that后面的从句

前面一句是主句，后面一句是分句。than后面的that是由he would give no other reason引起的。than前面是for后面用that

than比较other reason和"wanted at home".开始我也是这么想的。可是又觉得不太像，因为有earlier。其实我觉得更像是not earlier than，“去学校”不早于“不得不待在家”不是那样的。earlier 在for 引导的条件状语从句中，和两个比较的成分没有关系。也就是no other reason than是吧。谢谢了。我看懂了。谢谢
