Singaporean singer Stefanie Sun (Sun Yanzi) went to Tahoua,West Africa to visit the children who have suffered from famine(饥荒) and war.Stefanie Sun was touched by those poor kids there.She said,“Some children are already 3 or 4 years old,but they are so skinny that you can hold them with your single arm.You can see the scare and hopelessness in their eyes.The children only wish to have food to eat and go to school.However,these basic needs are like inaccessible(难以实现的) dreams to them.”
Stefanie Sun was deeply touched by a 4-month-old baby who weighed only 2.5kg!Stefanie said that the children had nothing but leaves to eat during famine.The reconstruction(重建) in that area needs enough food,education,and clean water.
She was injured when she was riding a camel there.Fortunately,nothing serious happened to her.She also called on(请求) people to help those who were in need of food.Stefanie Sun ate nothing for thirty hours herself on August 4 to call on people to join the battle against famine.
