这样改一下语法就没什么问题了.但是还是太严肃了,没有调侃的意味在里面.我建议你使用下面这个句子.
I was impressed by the ruler in your bag today.Is it the same one that your parents used to beat you when we were little?
我今天被你书包里的尺子惊呆了.那是不是咱们小时候你爸妈常用来教育你的?
