当告诉某人某事的时候，习惯用told、当说某事的时候用said。
如：she told me that she was 13 years old.
she said she was 13 years old.

这样写也对吧 his mother 是宾语,后面的从句也是宾语.say sth.to sb.的用法
改成told也可以,tell sb.sth.

错就错在said to这个地方。。。如果换成told，就可以了
