Above-Average NYC hotel
I love staying in Chelsea - it's quieter than the
Village or Midtown,but accessible to both.The Four Points is a nice quiet hotel on a side street off Seventh Avenue,close to the subways.The rooms are
very clean & the beds are extremely comfortable.Smallish room,of course,but that's NYC.I liked that the complimentary coffee in the lobby & the guest
rooms was starbucks,and that they gave us free bottled water each night.
It's a very narrow building,so all of the rooms surround the elevator,but it didn't bother us too much.And,there's barely any lobby to speak of -
especially with the computer stations in the middle of it.And,the exercise room is laughable - 3 or 4 cardio machines & no universal gym or free weights.
But,the reality is - we weren't planning on spending much time in the common areas.We liked the room & got out early in the morning to sightsee.
My one real complaint is that I had pre-booked a room with a king-sized bed AND pre-paid for the 4-night stay in advance.When we arrived,they didn't honor
the booking.Instead,they gave us a room with 2 full-size beds.They said they'd get us into a king room by the second night,then didn't.And,they
tried to say I had agreed to the full-size beds when I checked in - a complete lie.It took a phone call to American Express before they "found" an
available king room.I don't like that kind of customer "service."
