英语定语从句中关系词是不是绝对不能用where?

英语定语从句中关系词是不是绝对不能用where?
例：The house in which Lily used to lived was sold yesterday.
老师说过in which 就相当于where,
used to live

正常来说是Lily used to lived in the house. 所以要将介词in提前.变成in which（而介词后面可以加which）.所以如果将in去掉就不可以用which,只能用where.所以in which=where.句子就变成The house where Lily used t...此处where修饰the house，那这个句子还是定语从句吗？此处的where就不能说是关系词了？是的这个句子也是定语从句，where是关系副词！which是关系代词。
