用not 的话，是这样的：There isn't any bridge and the river runs too quickly for boats.

no可以做形容词，直接修饰名词，在这里就相当于“not a”

There is no bridge=There is not a bridge.没有一座桥.

此处的no是用来说明后面的名词bridge的,如果用not 就是is not 用来强调 there is not（这里没有）,如果非要用not,可以在bridge前面加个冠词,比如 there is not a bridge或者there is not any bridge

no是形容词，没有的，可修饰名称（bridge），not是副词（adv），只修饰动词，所以不行
