Today, there is no consensus yet on whether intelligent students should be taught as an independent group and be educated separately. In this essay,I will compare and contrast two perspectives on this issue.Personally,I am in favor of “brainy students should be distinguished from others”.
Some argue that teaching bright students distinctly carries certain benefits. They may point out doing so enables students to avoid the waste of human resource. For instance, intelligent students have a high IQ that can learn faster than others; they can only get a little knowledge if they are taught with others. Also,it is generally accepted that efforts to school clever students separately help intelligent students to better receive knowledge that they had never learned. Moreover,it is different that every student,we cannot use the same measure to school them. Most importantly, the fact that educating distinctly can afford the students suitable knowledge makes this view even more compelling.Apparently, teaching students separately and personally can be very stimulating if it is for learning instead of just for teaching easily.
Some other may think there should be no difference between intelligent students and normal students, they should not be educated separately. It is true that we should have no discrimination, students are all students. It is entirely possible normal students would become disappoint and weariness of study if they were treated unfairly. But,as Albert Einstein said,“the greatest in danger in modern technology is not that machines begin to think like people, but that people begin to think like machines.” The same education make students same. Our own experience informs us students should be treated differently because they are different.
Overall,my conclusion is that some students whom are intelligent,we should teach the different from the other normal students, and use a suitable measure. As John F.Kennedy aptly remarked,“A child miseducated is a child lost.”
