I do agree that small events can turn out to be great events with the passing of time.People always argue that“Rome isn’t built in one day.” However,it’s worth noting that many catastrophes and great events just happened in a night.As an example,“Butterfly Effect” illustrates that a wave caused by a little butterfly can turn out to be a horrible tornado thousands miles away.In humans’history,we can find an abundance of these exemples,including the dying of Inca Empire,which is said to be a result of climate change.
On the other hand,chances are there that little events can turn out to be unexpectedly huge achievements.The apple that fell to Newton’s head can perfectly verify this point.Archimedes’s rule was found when the famous scientist was bathing.
Therefore,it’s imagenary that one little step may lead to great changes.Just as Armsteran mentioned:“This is a small step for man,a giant leap for human beings.”Based on this point,we should be wary about the seemingly controllable events now:global warming,extinction of rare animals,etc in that we may save out Earth from a catastrophe at a small cost now.On the other hand,we should invest more to investigate those seemingly worthless projects like the research of the outer space,or the research of gene for we may realize the far-reaching implications of these investments only after a long time.
I agree that small events can turn into a big disater by the time passing.As what the people always says'Rome is not built in one day'.Some people may argue that there are so many catastrophes happend...
