怎么区分where的用法?

1.定语从句里面区分where和which/that方法如下：1）将其前面的先行词（必须是名词如the place）代入定语从句中,如果可以直接做从句的主语/宾语,则用关系代词that/which.如：This is the city (which/that) I visited...老师像这道题：It is time for you to get back to _____you once belonged,said the one in the dark.A the place B that C what D where 我在想是不是这个跟在belong后面的to 提前了？？是不是应该选B？还有老师像这样：他居住在出生地一直到18岁。 He lived in the place where he was born. 可以这样改么（把in放到后面）He lived the place where he was born inthe place可以去掉么？？？？答案：D.解释：这是where引导的宾语从句，做介词to的宾语。同时where又在宾语从句中作地点状语。如：I don't know where you live.如果belonged后面有个to，则答案为A。此时you once belonged to为定语从句，修饰先行词the place。因为关系代词代替the place，在定语从句中充当belonged to的宾语，所以关系代词可以省略。改成He lived the place where he was born in是错误的，应该是：He lived in the place where he was born.主句不能缺少介词in，否则lived和the place无法连接。如果不要the place，则可以是：He lived where he was born.此时where he was born为地点状语从句，且where在从句中充当地点状语。
