What solutions do you suggest to the problem of generation gap?

Everyone has he's situation,so the habits of all people and conclusions of lives are different.And so on.In result,it forms generation gap.I think only obeying to put aside minor differences so as to seek common ground can solute this.For example,habit,one likes growing trees,flowers,but other likes going to bar,OK,Go with the flow！You go,I go.When we come back,we can do some same things,because we are people,at least,we have same habits,you know?And I think ,if we obey it,we will live happily!What do you think?
