wait+for+要等的人
example: they were waiting for the plane at the airport the whole morning.
这里前面说了是飞机,后面就显而易见detectives在等飞机。
wait不接宾语时,不加for
at the airport all morning 是状语,与前面的wait可以说是无关。
一句话中可以有两个介词
例如:go on to do sth.
waiting at + 地点
waiting for + 人物
你可以说:waiting for him at the airport
例句:
A car and driver are waiting for him at Penn Station.
wait for 表示 “等待某人”,for引导后面的人
这个句子里面,被等待的人没有交代,所以直接用wait就可以了
只有要说明“被等待的人”的时候,才用for 并且后面要加上这个人
比如=---WAIT FOR HIS FATHER
当然,你的句子比较特殊-----可以加for,但是这个for和后面的all morning连在一起理解,表示等候了多长时间
所以,下面的表达是正确的

而楼主这句话wait后面是地点,没有宾语,所以不加for
