How to Make Fruit Salad
Want the perfect dessert that you'll love without tipping the scales and can make in under ten minutes? Try a fruit salad!
Steps
1. Fruit salads are often creative- you decide which fruits to use and how much. However, some tasty fruits that are always great are berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries,) peaches and/or nectarines, melons, grapes, mangos, apples, grapefruits, kiwis, and Mandarin oranges.
2. Wash all your fruits.
3. For berries (except for strawberries) and grapes, you can go ahead and put those in a large mixing bowl.
4. For all your other fruits, chop into bite-size pieces. For reference, each piece should be a little bigger than your thumbnail.
5. Once all your fruits are chopped, you can arrange them on a platter, put into individual bowls or Tupperware, or serve out of the bowl (coat the bowl with lemon juice to naturally sweeten the fruit).
6. Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled. Enjoy!
Tips
For a treat, serve over ice cream or add some whipped cream.
Try adding in a little bit of maple syrup- it's delicious!
Not sure which fruits will taste good together? Don't worry! Throw in a few fruits and it'll taste great. As a general guide, berries taste good with everything, strawberries and kiwis are a common pair, and Mandarin oranges add flavor to anything.
If you happen to use watermelon, make it into a bowl to hold the salad - cut it lengthwise a couple of inches off-center, use a melon baller to scoop out the edible part, and then later put the finished salad into the hollowed-out melon. Use the other piece as a lid, if you like.
Warnings
Be careful when chopping fruits- knives are sharp and when mishandled can be dangerous. Sharper knives are actually safer. The sharper your knife, the less likely it is to slip and cut you!

Tropical Fruit Salad with Guava
Ingredients:
2 bananas, sliced
1 ripe pear, sliced
4 kiwis, peeled and sliced
2 cups sliced strawberries
2 feijoas
2 Tbsp orange juice concentrate
1 ripe guava
Combine all of the ingredients in a large serving bowl.
