transport 是具体的运输，transportation 是概念上的运输。前者是可数名词，后者是不可数名词。transportation更多的用来表示运输这个概念，而transport同时能表示运输器材。所以交通工具用Means of transport或Means of transportation都可以，只是表示具体的“交通工具”用Means of transport更合适吧。

下句transport用来表示具体的运输工具：
It is easier to travel if you have your own transport
如果你自己有交通工具,旅行起来就方便多了
下句transportation用来表示输送、运输：
