个人认为,happening to him是现在分词短语做定语,修饰前面的thing的.而非 have sth doing 句型.原句的骨干成分是 “I will not have this kind of thing again.”汉语的意思是“我身上不会再发生此类事情”.
现在分词做定语,在英语中是很常见的,它通常放在被它修饰的名词之后.而动词原形是不能做定语的.故本句不能用happen.
