Some Chinese parents are panic-stricken (惊慌失措) because they realize it’s a tough world out there, full of competitions. For fear that their kids would be left behind, they arm their children with heavy loads of extracurricular “guns” (课外活动)―playing the piano, painting, swimming, practising calligraphy (书法),etc.Since these activities involve too much reluctant participation (勉强参加) and competition, children are left with little time to play or to do what they really like.
Instructions:Make sure you have a proper title for your composition and your theme should be well developed and presented in a coherent way.Marks will be given for form, content, organization, grammar and appropriacy.

Crystal, one of my colleagues, came into my department last year. Frankly, she was unfavourably impressed on me in the beginning. She is of mean stature and is
fairly dark in complexion. She is just sitting in front of me in the office. She
didn't say much, and yet I almost always see smiles on her face every day. I hardly spoke to her for about one week since her joining us, anyone else in my office did, either. but it seems that she never pay attention to this, she always
does everything as she wants to do, and smiles at anyone.
Finally we both talk everything.
One day, we all worked overtime. "It is raining again!" Someone complained. " what a day!" She said and turned around, "do you have the umbrella, Jenny? " " well, I don't." I answered. Then she was out of the office. After a little, I looked up from my desk, when I saw her entering the office and with a umbrella in his
hand. She was drenched with rain. she walked straight before me, "Here you are!
And the rain is now heavy. You'd better wait a sencond and then go home, otherwise you'll be drenched to the skin." she said and gave her face a wipe. I stood
beside the desk and couldn't say anything. I was shocked by her behavior for now
. I was very uneasy. "Th-th-thank you." I stammered. She gave me a bright smile.
I'll remember the split second forever.
After that, she has been my little sister. she is good at English, but her pronunciation is not sterling maybe because of her bad mandarin(grin). And then I learn her strong points to offset my weakness. We have become good friends.
