(2.)The equipment that most artists choose for working out of doors has distinct qualities. It should be light, easily portable and simple,for example, a small set of "pan" paints. These can be bought in several sizes and qualities, but the quality fo the paints is very important. Pan paints come in two sizes - full pan and half pan;and in twoqualities-student's quality and artist'squality. The student quality paints are fine when you are buying your first set of paints.Soon you wil want to have the artist's quality as they contain the purect pigment and result in the cleanest coolors. Most tins come with a pre-chosen selection of paints.All the paints are replaceble and,of course, you can then select your own colors.
(3.)The indoor or studio equipment is only a little more elaborate than the sketching equipment, but the rule of simplicity is still the same.For example,I like to use tube paints whenworking indoors. The only real advantage that these paints is that you can pick up a lot more paints on your brush as you squeeze them from the tube. This allows you to achieve more ontense colors a little more quickly. I squeeze these paints into a large white plastic mixing palette with lots of space for mixing colors with water.
